Session 2B
Growing the Scale and Quality of Donor Impact/Stewardship Reports: Lessons Learned at the University of Rochester
Andrea Meyer, Robb Hoffheins, and Diane Crane
Wednesday, September 21 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM (MT)
The University of Rochester's Donor Engagement department has grown both the breadth and the value of their donor impact/stewardship reports. Over the past 5 years, the UR stewardship team has developed a process for producing more reports, including more first-person impact narratives, and supporting new gift solicitations. This dramatic growth of output has happened with only minor increases in the budget. In this session, attendees will hear from two stewardship experts on their journey from being a service of the Advancement department to a key partner of donor cultivation.
Learning Objectives
-
What attendees can do to grow the breadth and value of their own reporting
-

About the Speakers |
Andrea Meyer Director, Donor Impact Reporting University of Rochester
Andrea Meyer has worked at the University of Rochester for 14 years in the Stewardship/Donor Engagement department. Leading the team responsible for the comprehensive, centralized annual donor reporting, they live the University’s motto of ‘Meliora’ (ever better). This has influenced seeking the appropriate path to increase the quality and meaningfulness of impact reporting to donors, working smarter and not harder in the process, and cultivating partnerships to accomplish these goals. The team is also responsible for partnering with gift officers in donor-recipient engagement opportunities for scholarships and professorships. Prior to non-profit, Andrea had a 10-year career in banking operations. She was also a board member for 14 years for a very successful public school sports booster club. Outside of work, she enjoys her 7- and 1-year old grandchildren.
Robb Hoffheins Head of Product Mythos
Robb is the Head of Product at Mythos. As such, Robb is responsible for the success of the Mythos platform. He works closely with all prospective and current customers to ensure that the platform is meeting and exceeding their expectations and needs by steering the Mythos product development roadmap. Robb has been with Mythos for over 10 years. Prior to this role, Robb had a diverse career starting as a Product Manager at AOL in the 90’s managing many early innovative internet products to small business ownership and consulting including leading (at the time) one of the largest Kickstarter campaigns ever.
Diane Crane Associate Director, Stewardship Reporting, University of Rochester Donor Engagement University of Rochester
Diane Crane has spent the majority of her career in Advancement at the University of Rochester. A variety of experiences as a fundraiser, event planner, in systems change management, and campaign leadership support, led her to a culminating role on the University’s Donor Engagement team. Demonstrating impact to beneficiaries—students and faculty—and the donors supporting their amazing efforts, is what makes Diane proud of her work.
