Session 6E

Be an Agent of Change in the Midst of Culture Change

Brie Aguila, Kirsten Lavin, and Katie Kutney

Friday, September 23
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (MT)

About the Session

Change is constant and pervasive in our lives, and the past three years have caused existential disruptions to our work and communities.  In order to retain and engage employees, many organizations are shifting the conversation to an internal examination of culture, aligning behaviors and interactions to an agreed upon set of goals and values.  No matter where you sit, or the size of your institution, embracing simple approaches and a new mindset will allow you to flourish as an agent of change in the face of culture change.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the basic tenets of and approaches to culture change from three perspectives – organization, team, self.
  • Examine the employee:supervisor and employee:employee relationships as opportunities to increase engagement and embrace change.
  • Discuss real life change scenarios and techniques that help build resiliency in times of change.
